 NEEDHAM - Denise Garlick's campaign for State Representative will host an election night gathering on Tuesday, November 2, the day of the Massachusetts General Election. The gathering will be at the Needham Village Club, 83 Morton Street, after the polls close at 8:00 p.m. The public is invited.

Press Release: Garlick Campaign to Host Home Stretch Rally 10/17

NEEDHAM The campaign for Denise Garlick, Democratic nominee for State Representative for the 13th Norfolk District, will host a Home Stretch Rally on October 17 at VFW Post 2498 in Needham at 6:00 p.m. All community members are invited to help make the campaign a success.


In a message to supporters Garlick said, “I have come to your doorstep, so now, please come to our rally. I offer a record of experience, hard work and commitment to the best interests of our community. There are less than three weeks until the General Election, and I need your help and support to win.

The rally will be Sunday, October 17 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The VFW hall is located at 20 Junction Street. Refreshments will be served.

The Garlick campaign hosted a similar rally on August 29, prior to the Democratic Primary.

The 13th Norfolk District includes Needham, Dover and parts of Medfield.

Press Release: Garlick Endorsed by Mass Sierra Club

NEEDHAM – Reaffirming her dedication to protecting the environment and promoting green technologies, the Massachusetts Sierra Club has endorsed Denise Garlick, Democratic nominee for State Representative, for the 13th Norfolk District.


“Today the Commonwealth faces challenges as great as any in our generation, but we must achieve solutions that are sustainable, both for our environment and our economy.” Garlick said, “I am proud to have the support of the Massachusetts Sierra Club because we share that commitment to environmental protection and a strong, sustainable Massachusetts.”

“Denise Garlick understands that environmental health and personal health are intertwined,” said Phil Sego, Massachusetts Sierra Club Political Chair. “Her leadership on Beacon Hill will be critical to maintaining the quality of our water, air and open spaces for generations to come.”

Garlick said, “As a nurse, I am well aware of the fact that we need to preserve our natural environment as well as the indoor environment to protect the health and safety of our children, families, workers and seniors.”

Garlick stated that she will work to encourage green technologies as part of a diversified economic growth strategy. This includes other potentially high-growth sectors, such as biotech and life sciences. Green technologies can bring jobs in research, design, engineering and manufacturing. Garlick also supports moving to renewable energy sources to lessen our dependence on imported fossil fuels.

Garlick has previously been endorsed by the Massachusetts Teachers Association, Massachusetts Nurses Association and Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.

A registered nurse and current vice-chairman of the Needham Board of Selectman, Denise Garlick is the former chairman of the Needham Board of Health and a past president of the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

The Sierra Club is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization dedicated to the preservation, protection, and exploration of the earth’s natural environment.

UPDATED: Garlick to Debate O’Leary in Dover on Oct. 21

**Update - 10/8: The debate will be at the Dover Town House, and will be one-hour long, from 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. It will be moderated by members of the local press. The candidates will both be allowed to make opening and closing statements.


"I look forward to this opportunity to discuss the issues that matter to the residents of Needham, Dover and Medfield, including job creation and the economy, education and local aid, and health care cost containment.” Garlick said.**

Denise Garlick, Democratic nominee for State Representative for the 13th Norfolk District, will debate the Republican nominee John O’Leary in Dover on October 21.

"I have been talking to the residents of our towns all summer and fall, and I value each and every opportunity to discuss their concerns and other important issues.  I look forward to this debate and continuing to listen to the voters of Needham, Medfield and Dover.” Garlick said.

The debate will be held at the Dover Town House, and more details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Denise Garlick, Democratic nominee for State Representative for the 13th  Norfolk District, has been endorsed by NARAL, Pro-Choice Massachusetts.
